Artwork detail

[art #350]. Limited Edition Print by Steve Dunn.

The Harley-Davidson V-Rod, introduced in 2002, represents a bold departure from the brand's traditional cruiser image, blending American muscle with cutting-edge performance and modern design. The V-Rod was the first Harley-Davidson to feature a liquid-cooled engine, developed in collaboration with Porsche. This 1,131cc "Revolution" V-twin engine produced 115bhp, making the V-Rod one of the most powerful Harley-Davidsons ever built. The bike's design was a striking combination of aggressive styling and futuristic elements, with a low-slung frame, wide rear tire, and drag-style handlebars that emphasised its performance-oriented nature. The V-Rod's muscular stance and sleek lines set it apart from other models in Harley's lineup, attracting a new generation of riders. Its innovative technology, including fuel injection and dual overhead cams, delivered a level of performance previously unseen in a Harley-Davidson. The V-Rod remains a significant model in the company's history, representing a successful fusion of heritage and innovation.
