[art #308]. Limited Edition Print by Steve Dunn.

The 1981 Laverda Jota 1000 is a motorcycle that became a symbol of speed and power in the early 1980s. Named after a Spanish dance, the Jota was a high-performance version of Laverda's 3C model, developed in collaboration with Laverda's UK importer, Slater Brothers. The bike was powered by a 981cc triple-cylinder engine that produced 90bhp, giving it a top speed of around 140mph, making it one of the fastest production motorcycles of its time. The Jota was known for its brutal power delivery and distinctive exhaust note, which made it a favourite among speed enthusiasts. The 1981 model featured several refinements, including improved suspension, brakes, and a more comfortable riding position, which made it more accessible to a wider range of riders without sacrificing its raw performance. The bike's design was muscular and aggressive, with a bold, angular tank and a triple exhaust that emphasised its performance-oriented nature. The Laverda Jota 1000 from 1981 remains an iconic motorcycle, revered for its speed, power, and the adrenaline-fuelled experience it offers to those who ride it.
