The 1972 Suzuki GT750, affectionately known as the "Water Buffalo" or "Kettle," is a landmark motorcycle that brought liquid-cooling to the forefront of two-stroke engine technology. Powered by a 739cc two-stroke, three-cylinder engine, the GT750 was the first mass-produced motorcycle to feature liquid cooling, a pioneering move that set it apart from its air-cooled contemporaries. The engine delivered around 67bhp, providing a smooth and torquey powerband that was ideal for both relaxed cruising and spirited riding. The GT750's distinctive design included a large radiator positioned between the front forks, a dual exhaust system, and a comfortable, upright riding position, making it a capable long-distance tourer. The bike's unique character was further enhanced by its distinctive exhaust note, a blend of the two-stroke crackle with the mellow hum of the water-cooled engine. The 1972 Suzuki GT750 remains a beloved classic, celebrated for its innovation, distinctive styling, and the smooth, reliable performance that made it a popular choice among riders of the 1970s.
