[art #416]. Limited Edition Print by Steve Dunn.

The 1958 Triumph 3TA, also known as the "Twenty-One," is a significant model in Triumph's history, being the first to feature a fully enclosed rear chain and unit construction engine. Powered by a 349cc parallel-twin engine, the 3TA produced around 18bhp, making it an ideal motorcycle for everyday use. The bike's unit construction engine, where the engine and gearbox were combined into a single unit, was a major advancement, reducing weight and improving reliability. The 3TA was also known for its distinctive "bathtub" rear fairing, which gave it a sleek, futuristic look that stood out from other motorcycles of the time. This design not only provided better protection from the elements but also contributed to the bike's aerodynamic efficiency. The 1958 Triumph 3TA was a practical and stylish motorcycle that offered a comfortable and reliable ride, making it a popular choice among commuters and touring riders alike. Today, it remains a classic example of Triumph's innovative approach to motorcycle design.
